as they lay presents Things I Imagined, a one night exhibition featuring poetry, text, sound, video, and performance art that speaks to the importance of black folk dwelling in imaginning as a form of resistance against oppressive metaphysical structures. 

 

Baltimore-based writers Jaylnn Harris, Abdu Ali, Jalen Eutsey, Hannah Sawyer and Oscar Rodriguez Cruz read original works accompanied by video projections from Multidisciplinary artist Karryl Eugene, and Multidisciplinary artist Natalia C. Arias provided a sonic score to make for an immersive collaborative performance. Multimedia performance artist Lynn Hunter presented a time based endurance work that taps into this language to translate personal and abstracted theory to those around her titled, Let’s Take a Breath. An open dialogue will follow the performances.
